REPORT OF THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE

The 2016 Slate of Nominees for this year’s election was reported to all STAR members electronically via email on Friday, October 16th:

The Election Committee has set Tuesday, November 13, 2015 as the date for the 2016 Election.  The nominating committee has met, and with the assistance of recommendations from members has determined a slate. 

According to the South Tahoe Association of REALTORS® Bylaws: “The Nominating Committee shall select at least one candidate for each office, except President, and at least one candidate for each place to be filled on the Board of Directors. … The report of the nominating committee shall be distributed to each member eligible to vote at least four (4) weeks preceding the election.” 

The Board of Directors is comprised “of four (4) officers and nine (9) directors.  The ninth (9th) director shall be the most immediate Past President. … No more than three officers and/or directors may be elected from one firm. … In the event that an elected director or officer changes firms after an election and in so doing, increases that firm’s director/officer count to more than three (3), it is hereby established that each officer/director will be allowed to complete his/her term.” 

The Nominating Committee has prepared the following slate of officers and directors for the 2016 election:

According to the South Tahoe Association of REALTORS® bylaws, “Additional candidates for the offices to be filled may be placed in nomination by petition signed by at least 25% of the REALTOR® members eligible to vote.  The petition shall be filed with the Secretary at least three weeks before the election (10/23/15).  The Secretary shall distribute notice of such additional nominations to all members eligible to vote at least two weeks before the election.”
